Around 1933/34 the legionaries wore tricolor ribbons on their lapels. We, a group of open-minded pupils from high school, used to tear them off, but I wasn’t a regular member of the UYW. There were guys in Bourgas called ratniks [4] who used to beat up our boys. They beat them up very often.
