I started to only think about how I would manage this.  The next day I found a note placed under my shutters.  This was a note written by Vitali Hakko (The owner of Vakko.  He did not have a place in Beyoglu then, he only had a place in Eminonu where he manufactured and sold scarves) “My dear Lazar, may you recover soon, I am waiting for you in my store, come urgently to me”.  I immediately ran to him.  We hugged and he asked “What are you going to do?  “I will immigrate to Israel right away, however I can”, I said.  “Are you crazy?  Go immediately, put your store in order and open it to business.  You will see, you will have great work”, he said.
