In November 1939, upon the signing of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact [15] and the annexation of Polish lands [16], Vilnius became the capital of Lithuania again [17], and the university was transferred there. On 15th December my mother and I, her favorite eldest son, came to Vilnius.
