Marie-Kahle-Gesamtschule, Bonn

Type of institution
Public school

Marie-Kahle-Gesamtschule is a public comprehensive school which was founded in August 2009. The school is named after Marie Kahle, who helped her Jewish neighbour after the "Reichsprogromnacht" and was 'caught' by the police. In the following months she and her family were severely persecuted and finally fled to England. Remembering and learning from the past are part of the school's programme and Marie Kahle plays an important role.
