Laszlo Nussbaum on the battlefield
This is a photo of Laszlo Nussbaum on the Italian battlefield. He was the eldest brother of my father, who named me, his son, after him This picture was taken in 1916. My grandfather, Heinrich Nussbaum, was terribly proud that his elder son, who was 20 years old, became an ensign.
The photo remained from a family album and the relatives passed it on. I don't know more about this. I didn't know the whole story. Actually I met him for the first time in the 1960s. My father's handwriting is on the picture; it was probably he who wrote there.
