Here you can see the shop window of Adolf Goldmann’s store in Dessau.
My father-in-law emigrated to Germany from a Polish small town when he was 19 years old.
He didn’t have anything. But over the years, he established a big leatherwork factory, got a house and a car with a chauffeur.
Before the war, he even presented his products at the Leipzig Trade Show.
“If you’re smart and on the top, buy a purse in our shop” – that was one of his slogans for his products.
Lotte, his oldest daughter, also worked in the factory.
