When early in the morning on 22nd June 1941 the war with Germany broke out, we hid in the bomb shelter. I remember that first bombing of Kiev on the first day of the war. Right before the war my little brother Anatoly was born and Mother did not want to leave because of the baby. Finally we decided to leave, but Father remained in Kiev.
