The oldest brother, Avrum, was born in 1880 and perished during a pogrom 4 in 1917. His wife and children lived in Berdichev. They were shot by the fascists in Berdichev in 1941. My grandparents’ other son, Haim, was a barber and had his own barber’s shop. He was married and had children. They were all shot in Berdichev in 1941. The younger son, Leivi, was born in 1887 and learned how to handle leather. He owned a shop before the Revolution of 1917. After the Revolution the Soviet authorities built a leather factory on the basis of Leivi’s shop. Leivi continued to work at the factory after the Revolution. He also had a wife and children that were shot in 1941. I didn’t know the rest of my father’s brothers and sisters, but they were all shot in the Berdichev fortress in 1941.
